Kestrel (pocaire gaoithe)
10,00 € - 20,00 €
Ltd edition Fine art print on a beautiful fine art paper. This female kestrel was originally handdrawn in my home studio. The Irish for Kestrel is Pocaire Gaoithe or "wind romper". She frolics aand hovers on the wind as he hunts her prey. It is thought that these small raptors can see a certain part of the UV spectrum that allows them to see urine trails of rodents, which helps them track their prey. kestrels mate for life, but at the moment, due to declining habitats, they only live for 2 or 3 years in the wild.
